Peace Ridge Sanctuary gives a beautiful, idyllic setting to serious animal sheltering.
Our daily activity is centered around working for the welfare of the animals, while promoting and appreciating the beauty of the natural environment. We also are quite motivated to preserve the historic estate farm at our main shelter – a dwindling aesthetic of New England.
If you like the sound of that, please join our efforts in a special way- by supporting our Endowment Campaign!
What is an endowment? An endowment is a donation of money or property to a non-profit organization, which uses the resulting investment income for a specific purpose, typically to support ongoing operations. Most endowments are designed to keep the principal amount intact while using the investment income for charitable efforts – which is exactly how Peace Ridge Sanctuary uses our fledgling endowment fund. Growing a more robust fund would allow the organization the security to continue working without interruption in services, providing care for the animals needing to come to us through neglect and cruelty cases, while preserving the environment that makes this corner of the world so special.
Peace Ridge’s endowment fund restricted – which means that any donation, whether it be a gift of stock, money, property, etc. would be earmarked to be used only to create interest, which would directly fund the operations (and only operations) here at the sanctuary.
Interest from the bulk endowment fund would help us to have the money that we need to do this work even in times of economic hardship – which impacts available public funding like donations, grants and other general fundraising revenues. In an environment that is less than hospitable, where the demand for help is relentless, and the hard-to-place animals that we specialize in are not usually on the average person’s “giving radar,” an endowment would help offset hardships so that our team can keep our programs alive and well, also securing the property and its important legacy for generations to come.
