Meet the Animals

The animals who call Peace Ridge home come from a myriad of backgrounds; they are neglected, abused, forgotten, or displaced due to the overwhelming attitude in our society that animals are “disposable."  At Peace Ridge, we not only offer a permanent home for these animals, but also strive the alter attitudes towards them.

A cow named Theo, a horse named Max, a sheep named Scarlett, and a pig named Missy. These are just a few of our residents who came to us in particularly bad shape. Unfortunately, there are many more animals who need our help. There are hundreds of rescue stories to tell, accumulated over the past twenty years that our founder has been actively advocating for and rescuing animals. There are many that begin with an animal who has been abandoned to a kill shelter, escaping only through some random luck thanks to the power of rescue networking, or the animal who has been in someone's back yard for years, with little food, water or touch, who is finally seen by someone who just won't give up until the animal is removed. But there are a few that really stick out, because the odds were truly stacked against the chance that the animal would ever make it out of their predicament. Read more about the lucky ones...
